Derek and Kayla

On Novemeber 15, 2013 Derek and Kayla got married in the Portland Temple.  Derek is Roberts son and Duanes first grandson. 

This is what the girls did for Kayla’s bachelorette party.  (Mormon style for sure)

Believe it or not this is the best picture I got of them.  People just kept popping up in front of me so I gave up. 

Cousins that were there:  Sadie, Nysa, Camille, Taegan    Sterling, Braidon, and Micah

The Aunts and Uncles:  Dave, Leslie, Melissa, Robert(Dad) and Jeff.  Kim didn’t make it from Ohio.

Derek’s sisters were all wearing 5 inch heels so they were almost taller than grandpa

I usually try to get everyone in at least one picture but I just gave up I think.  It was such a nice day and the reception etc was all very nice.  Congrats Derek and Kayla

Grandma Velma

I am doing this post mainly for Aunt Peggy.  Duane framed my favorite picture of Grandma’s and was able to mount the paint brushes she used with it.  He framed it with barn wood and true the picture needs some touch ups but I love it anyway. 

 

…oh to have inherited that talent : )

The finished project

This is what we have been doing for the last couple of weeks.  It has been fun working with Duane but also a learning experience.  Things I learned:  Always have a tape measure and a pencil in your pocket, be attentive (no texting), know a 1/16 from a 1/8, don’t look down, know where the ladders are when your walking, complaining falls on deaf ears, the joy of doing it right….and much more. 

I got distracted a lot.  Jeff lives in the middle of wheat fields which means pheasants, hawks, etc and its just so pretty there.

and to top it off the other day there was a crop duster helicopter out there.  Too exciting.  (I think I have been around kids too long)

Its really hard to see the smaller the picture gets, but it’s the little tiny thing by the left tree.
