Aunt Patricia
(Ok, this picture just has to be weird because I scanned it in and don’t know how to fix it. )
These are 3 of my favorite people. Aunt Peggy, Aunt Patricia and MOM. I have always loved my aunts because they are such neat and interesting people. They have always been so loving and always think of us ‘girls’s And of course I love my mom, she’s the best.
I will miss Aunt Patricia. She had the most interesting life and was always doing something like skiing or canoeing or traveling. What a neat lady.

Projects with G-pa
The first project this summer was making 260 of these blocks. They will be used for curbing around Jeffs lawns. The boys mixed the cement, poured, took them out of the forms and loaded them onto the trailer. This is the very last block they did. By the way, each one weighs 120lbs
Small projects like corn husking and bean snapping parties….
…and now taking my old garbage trailer and giving it a new look. It will have new stained floor and sides. These kids are workers.

Corn Day !
Every year this week we have corn day. The corn is ready and whoever can come, comes to help. We pick, husk, slice, and bag and try to have fun doing it. This year Melissa and family and Braidon, Seth and Camille were here to help. The corn was picked and ready to husk by 6:15 (Leslie we missed you this year. That is your job) It takes a couple of hours with everyone husking then its blanched and cut off the cob and bagged. Done by 10:30 this year. Record time !
Notice the important ingredients here. Wheelbarrow, cows, large pile of corn and willing huskers.
See the important role the cows play in this process.
I got out of husking because I was in the bean row. Darn things were ready again.
This is before the cutting started. The important ingredient for this process is bees !
This year Braidon and Karsten blanched, Duane Melissa and I cut, and Seth bagged. Taegan ate as many ears as she could. Camille entertained those not working. GREAT DAY. Missed both Leslie and Lindsys family.

2 Homes
Yesterday we went to La Grande to get the yard in shape again. We had the 3 kids with us and they really worked and helped to get things done. We weeded and trimmed the flower beds in the front, finished cutting the pavers around the raised beds, ordered a load of top soil and filled the flower beds around the back deck, mowed and replanted a tree in the back. I do love that house when it looks so nice. Duane is amazing to get so much done

The garden is on !
So when we got back from Wyoming we had zucchini coming out our ears, cucumbers, and a lot of beans. Since then Duane just brought in corn to eat today and the majority will be ready next week. I made a lot of zucchini bread but it only took one of the huge zucchini so Jeff helped me out with the other 3 and said the boys would love a target that explodes when you hit it : )
Its hard to see that the corn in 8 feet tall, then its beans, cucumbers, tomatoes and the pumpkins are trying to take over everything.
August size pumpkin. looks like a big one.
Yesterday we had a bean snapping party. Can you tell how much fun we were having. Camille, Braidon, Seth and Grandpa.
I’ve never done beans in pints before. The cucumbers are just starting so it will be a good pickle year.
This is the coolest way to can. Outside so the whole house doesn’t get hot. It was a little more tricky to keep it at the right pressure but so worth it.
…and todays corn !

Another Week of Fun
Since our rocks and sticks pictures, Aunt Lindsy decided she hadn’t seen Kiley and family for over a year so she packed up her kids (11 day old Brent) and all and came to see us for a couple of days. By the time we all had to leave, Thea and Gabe were playing together and Halle and Bryce had fun.
Uncle Mike got the best job of holding Brent
Then Kiley’s family and us took off for Wyoming and Ty’s race. Kiley is crazy but she decided to run the 25k trail run that he does. (he also has the 50k trail run) By the way, she came in 4th out of 105.
(he he…on the way)
This is the worlds longest antler arch right there in Afton, Wy. (sorry about the bug on the windshield)
Saturday morning cartoons with grandpa and DS with cousin Noah. It was a fun weekend of frying hamburgers and cutting watermelon for the runners and seeing Andreas family. Also a very quiet ride home.

Rocks and Sticks
We took the morning to go find some water with rocks. We ended up at the dam and the boys had fun while Kiley tried to run again after her 1/2 marathon.
Not just any rock will do, it has to be just right and BIG
These are our action shots.
Gabe loves water !! This little guy is full of energy and so smart
Bryce is either rock or stick. He has so many different expressions. Definitely 18months.
Kiley was up running.
The picture of the day.

Random post
Just a couple pictures from last week when Leslie and Lindsys kids were together. They really had fun. Camille and Sadie really helped with all the little people.
Crazy version or not, they are all neat kids !! Camille and Halle, Thea, Elijah, Sadie, Jarom, Matt, Wyatt and Josiah (who hates to have his picture taken)
These 4 got along great. 2 and 2 the same ages.
Then we took Lindsys kids home. They love their little brother Brent.
And the next day I found this in the family room. Made me really miss the kids again. Couple put it away for a couple of day. They were so much fun. But I will admit I was exhausted at the end of each day.
Now don’t look at how chubby my foot is BUT I hate it when I stub my toe. Pretty sure this one is broken.
We just spent a fun day in Union at the Catherine Creek 1/2 marathon. These three souls ran it and came out smiling. Mike came in first, then Kiley, then Jordan. Mike ended up getting second place in his age division, both Kiley and Jordan got 1st in theirs. Way to go guys
The true after race pictures.
Coming across the finish line. Jordan definitely wins for most excited.
This race is planned pretty much around the Baxter reunion weekend. There were a large number of them running. Mostly the 15 and under group and their dads this year. It was a fun day
